This work was presented in the semi-outdoor entrance area as both
a performance at the opening and as a floor work as part of the group
exhibition, Secret Societies, at the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt.
The two elements are conceived to function together and, in the case
of the floor piece, autonomously too.

A fictional sign system was invented for three areas: signs on the ground,
corresponding sounds, and hand gestures.

The performer makes subtle hand signs in direct relation to the symbols
on the ground and is also able to combine signs when standing in the centre,
coexisting with more free sounds. The way he moves is similar to the rules
of a board game. From my laptop I play sounds according to where he stands
so that he, in effect, generates the sound piece. His gestures are accentuated
by my corresponding two-channel audio.

Special thanks to Matthias Ulrich and Kai Middendorff.
